The Altsteiner Verein was founded in 1965 and maintains the network of former pupils of the Schloss Stein school. The purpose of the association is to maintain the network and provide financial support to the school and boarding school to promote educational issues. Regular meetings and events – above all the Altsteiner Treffen – are intended to strengthen the cohesion of the alumni and maintain the connection to the former school. The association supports meaningful projects and activities of the school and boarding school with financial means in order to contribute to the further development of Schule Schloss Stein.
Philipp Frauendörfer, Altstein club chairman ( (Stone Age: 1995-1999):
“After graduating from high school, I was elected to represent our year and grew into the Altsteiner board. For many years, I enjoyed helping to shape the association – especially through the joint projects, from the first digital whiteboards to new sports facilities and the home buses.
The most important thing for me is to build a bridge between young and old and to maintain and further expand the Altstein network. The internet as well as regular sporting and social events offer valuable opportunities to connect young and old Altsteiners.
The connection to Schloss Stein goes back generations in my family: my older brother came to Stein back in 1986, and later my brothers and even my nephews graduated from high school here. Even today, I still feel a sense of home every time I drive through the castle gates.”
Membership of the Altsteiner Verein e.V. is open to all former pupils of Schule Schloss Stein. Membership is voluntary and serves to promote the interests of the association.
The membership fee is € 100.00 per year
Reduced for students (up to the age of 27) € 50.00
