Learning together

The traditional “Plus est en vous” has lost none of its freshness and topicality. There is more to every person than he or she might think possible. Sincerity, fairness, dedication and perseverance are elements that may initially be seen as the driving forces behind sporting success. sporting success but which, when transferred to school and the community, have a positive effect. Joy develops in this triad, sense of togetherness and collective as well as individual success. Not only at school, but also there.

The economics branch

From Year 8, Schule Schloss Stein offers core subjects such as economics and law as well as business informatics in the economics branch (WSG). From Year 9 onwards, politics and society is also taught as a civic education subject. In these courses, students acquire a comprehensive understanding of economic, legal and political principles. Practical relevance is ensured through company visits and internships. In addition, the subject of business informatics combines the content of traditional accounting with basic IT skills in a practical way.

The new language branch

The modern languages branch is perfect for pupils who love foreign languages. Here they have the opportunity to learn three foreign languages, including at least two modern ones. In the G9 program, all students start with English in year 5. In Year 6, they choose French or Latin as their second foreign language. From Year 8, they choose between French or Spanish as their third foreign language. From Year 11, they can also choose Spanish as a late foreign language.

The college

We form a strong team through the harmonious interaction of experienced teachers and educators who have been associated with the school for many years and dynamic young colleagues. This diverse mix helps us to meet the individual needs of our students in a special way and to offer them an optimal learning environment in small classes and courses.

The grammar school

Schule Schloss Stein is a state-recognized grammar school that combines high academic standards with individual support to develop the full potential of all students. Thanks to our boarding and all-day operation our teachers and boarding school teachers maintain an almost family-like relationship with their students.

The transfer to our grammar school is based on the grammar school aptitude in the transfer certificate or the successful completion of the trial lessons. Our candidates are supervised by experienced grammar school teachers and experience the examination situation without stress.

International students

Since the 1950s, the community at Schloss Stein has been enriched by students from all over the world. A trend that has intensified since the turn of the millennium. For the past 15 years, there has been a strong connection with German schools in Mexico City. An average of 6 students from there come to us every year, either for a guest year or up to the Abitur. “What counts with us is what you do, not where you come from.” With respect for cultural identity, the Steiner community offers space for everyone. Here you can be part of a Community that people are proud of, and that goes far beyond their school days. In Stein, the dream of a global village becomes reality.

A guest year at Stein Castle

Many international students come to us to obtain the prestigious Bavarian Abitur. They not only want to get good grades, but also to experience life at a German boarding school. A year with us can be part of their school plan, for example if they are at a German school abroad and are completing a year in Germany.

Guest student status

International students can spend a trial year with us to settle in. If everything goes well, they can take part in an entrance exam and then test our school for six months. This process must be completed by the end of year 10 so that they can enter the upper secondary school and continue on to the Abitur.

Abitur in Stein for international students

Motivated international students can take the Bavarian Central Abitur at our school. To do so, they must pass an entrance exam and have German language skills at B2 level.

Requirements for international students

International students must have good school reports and letters of recommendation from two teachers. A personal letter of motivation is also required. There are two options:

  • A guest student year
  • Full integration, incl. entrance exam and Abitur

Day students

Discover the advantages of the day school at Schloss Stein! Pupils from the surrounding area take part together with the boarders lessons and all the other exciting activities activities of the Schloss Stein boarding school. A healthy and tasty lunch and expert homework supervision are included. In addition, we offer a practical bus service for pupils from the surrounding areas around Lake Chiemsee, which enables a safe and comfortable journey to and from school. This allows young people to take full advantage of the comprehensive educational and leisure activities on offer at Schloss Stein.

Additional offers

In order to support students who transfer to us from other schools or federal states, we supplement our teaching offer in the language and economics subjects by providing additional by providing additional support from specialist teachers. In addition, our subject teachers offer individual tutoring to ensure that new and old students reach the same level of knowledge.

We also offer a wide range of additional school activities:

Project days

On project days – often shortly before the end of the school year – there are group projects in cross-curricular and artistic areas.

Work placement

As part of our business sector, Year 9 pupils complete a one-week work placement. After this first exciting experience in the world of work, the students have the opportunity to report on their experiences in a presentation. This allows them to share their impressions and discuss their new insights with their classmates and teachers.

“Young Ambassadors tell their stories

In this digital format, young alumni from all over the world tell current Steiner students about their current studies (from business to science to culture), stories about their chosen university, practical information about registration/admission, housing, daily life, future prospects, quality assessment and more. In this way, our Steiners are optimally prepared for their time after Stein.

Career information day

At our careers information day, we also have friends of the school as guests, who are often former pupils or parents. They share their personal careers, training and experiences with the students to give them an insight into different career opportunities.

University Information Day

An annual format for our upper school classes. Students have the opportunity to find out about various universities in person at an information afternoon in Stein.

“Youth Forum

This format is particularly important to us: interesting personalities from business, science, culture and more come to Stein to present their individual life paths and offer our students (and others) the opportunity to ask questions openly. These events are usually rounded off with a joint dinner, where discussions and inspiration often continue for a long time.
